Prospective Buyers

So . . . Just what exactly is a Co-op?

This is a good question. A Co-op (or "Cooperative") is much like a condominium, except for the differences, some subtle and some significant. You may have heard of them in New York City, where they're fairly common. Sometimes, the first thing people hear about Co-ops are the legendary fights the rich get into either trying to get into a Co-op or trying to keep someone out of one. The basic difference between a condominium and a Co-op is that a Co-op is a corporation, and while a Condo owner receives a deed of trust when purchasing a unit, a Co-op owner receives a stock certificate. Confused yet? Just wait . . .

The St. Regis is one of only two Co-ops in the State of Missouri. Ironically, the other Co-op is on the west side of Forest Park, in Saint Louis Missouri.
